They are harmful to the environment.
•
It takes 1000 years to decompose into smaller pieces that seep into the ground
and release chemicals that eventually reach the water supply.

•
The production of plastic bags is harmful to the environment because
non-renewable resources (crude oil and natural gas) are used. The manufacturing
process itself uses toxic chemicals, pollutes the atmosphere and uses energy.
•
The transportation of the billions of plastic bags produced annually means
additional energy consumption, largely in the form of more oil.

SHOPPING CULTURE PREVIOUS DAYS
Before
the advent of polypos, people shopped, bought things, brought edible goods from
the market and did the same marketing as now. How did they do it? The raw
material for the bag was determined by its use. Clothes bags for lighter items,
Rabbit bags / Jute bags for bulky and heavier items. The cost did not justify
the use and disposal of attitude. These bags were washable and reusable for six
months to a year.
PLASTIC HAZARD The dangers of plastic are many. The land is filled
with waste of plastic bags that present an ugly and unhygienic view.
"Throw away the culture" results in these bags finding their way into
the city's drainage system, the resulting blockage cases are cumbersome,
difficult to maintain drainage at increased cost, creating an unhygienic
environment that results in health hazards and the spread of waterborne
diseases. This waste also reduces the rate of rainwater that permeates,
resulting in lowering already low water levels in our cities. The soil's
fertility deteriorates as the plastic bags are part of the fertilizer that
stays in the soil for years.
